The Kennedys

Whilst scrawling through Richard Avedon's many publications I came across this touching insight into the life of the favourite of all America's President & family.

The book is really interesting to see Avedon document the family out of his usual fashion portraiture of very studio environment of shooting people. Obviously a lot of the images from the collection are shot in a Studio but I personally as the audience totally lost the feeling that is sometimes attached to the location of the image & just wanted to read into the subject matter further. Mission Accomplished Dickie :)
( There are a couple of Fashion images thrown in for good measure ;) How could he resist with one of it not THE most stylish first lady that ever was? ) The book along with the beautiful imagery and historical text does make me question why are they such a popular presidential family? Was it because he was inevitable America's first Television President? Or was it because he was the young, clean cut, dark-suited youth in the debate next to the pale gray suited, older, stern-er Nixon? Answers on the back of a postcard please....

Went home at the weekend and had a lovely catch up with my family, we went for a cheeky shop in exeter where i bought some lovely goodies, well i should say i was bought by my rents some lovely goodies :) which will post up sometime in a shoot no doubt!anywhot, came across this beauty on the side of the new urban outfitters building! It's awesome! My dad being a builder, I tried to inspire him to create something similar on the side of his new project as he was equally in awe of it!

Came across this amazing piece of work by Cayce Zavaglia called Sophie. It's part of Push Stitchery: 30 Artists Explore the Boundaries of Stitched Art, which is a newly released book full of different edgy embroidery most of which is quite dark, but this beautiful piece of work I had to share with you. Bonjurno! Since moving down to fally a 11days ago to be exact :) i've been lucky enough to have tom let me explore his uni's awesome library! The range and amount of books on photography alone is am-az-ing! Buutt I got a book in something that I could stare at for days & would kill to be able to do! So below see some of my faves....

LFW 2011

Ok so sooooooper late blog on London Fashion Week! Apologies! Haven't got round to it & i know paris & milan & Ny bridal etc etc etc have been but hey! Better Late than never a?! :P
Got the once in a life time opportunity to work for First View @ Fashion Week thanks to who i assist so i was a runner/ assistant there and in a word AMAZING! Really opened my eyes to the fashion world that has intrigued me for such a long time. How it's portrayed, how it's mirrored from catwalk to the people attending the shows. Also getting to watch a couple of the shows was absolutely EPIC!( I was in the one sam cam got papped in )
Was unreal being in the pit at the end of the runway as soon as the first beauty waltzed out from behind the wall, imagine the rate at which each photographer triggered their shutters continuously as she strutted the few metres down & back. And then the next one.And the next. The sound was UNREAL!
anyways enough rambling from moi check out some of my images i took when I could!
Trying to get better @ Photoshop so some of the images are very badly done and mucked about with but have patience with me :)

I have a little niece and nephew & find it difficult to get good images of them as they're so active and i'm so impatient as my eyes turn to a blur to match my images! But at my nephew's 3rd birthday party I got a lush image of his little sister Georgia. See what you think below....
